Moment #91- Expensive words

4/10/2018

Remember that time in elementary school when your teacher gave you a list of 15-20 vocabulary words that you had to look up, write the definition and then spell in a test at the end of the week?  I HATED those assignments.  Writing took forever and I wasn't very good at spelling.  But, now I think to myself: those were the easiest homework assignments I ever had!   My God, all we had to do was look them up in a dictionary, use them in a sentence, and then remember how they were spelled!  Are you kidding me!?!  AND--It's even easier to do now because dictionary.com will look up the definition for you!!

Everyone once in a while I like to bone up on some words I haven't looked up in a long time.
Definition of luxurious. 1. extremely comfortable, elegant, or enjoyable, especially in a way that involves great expense 2. giving self-indulgent or sensuous pleasure.

Definition of sachet. 1 : a small bag or packet. 2 : a small bag containing a perfumed powder or potpourri used to scent clothes and linens.

I love to brew my tea in a tea sachet.  Have you ever said the word sachet out loud?  It sounds like Saah-sshhay.  It feels luxurious in your mouth.  Like, you paid a lot of money for that word that you just said.  But, guess what?  It was free.  Words are free to say.

And there you have it, I just looked up two words and used them in a sentence.  Don't ask me to spell them on Friday though.  I spell-checked luxurious three times.
