This will be an on-going list of scary stories (to tell in the dark!) to read when you want to feel that chill in the back of your neck.  ...OOOoooOOOO...What was that? To this day, I fear a dummy coming to life.  Thanks R.L. Stine...

I was on my way to the short story section of the library, when "Best Tales of Terror" by Edmund Crispin" jumped out at me.  (Not literally, but wouldn't that be a better story?)

The first paragraph in the first story "The Emissary" by Ray Bradbury begins, "He knew it was autumn again, because Torry came romping into the house bringing the windy crisp cold smell of autumn with him. In every black curl of his dog hair he carried autumn." Torry is the main character's dog who brings him news from outside.  The stories in this book are short but GOOD.

Check out this cover!!! There are 50 tales in this book including a few from H.P. Lovecraft and Isaac Asimov (who I wrote about recently in one of my last posts).
